Meribel Mottaret is located right in the centre of the Three Valleys making it probably the best located ski resort in the Alps. In addition to the Meribel Valley there is direct access to the valleys of Courchevel and Val Thorens.

The Three valleys ski area is the largest linked piste domain in the world.

At 1700m Meribel Mottaret is one of the higher resorts in the Alps.

Mottaret is a purpose built resort. All buildings in Mottaret are of wood-clad, low-rise chalet style construction. Hence there are no large concrete buildings that can be found in some new resorts
Apartments are in Le Sherpa shown above Situated on the western slope of Mottaret. Le Sherpa is very well situated for the local shops, bars and lifts.
The Three Valleys is an enormous Ski area with groomed pistes and off piste to suit all levels of skiing expertise. In Mottaret there are 21 lifts serving approximately 80km of piste. In Meribel there are a further 26 lifts serving another 80km of piste, with about 600km of pistes in the Three Valleys as a whole.

For beginners, as well as the blues and greens in Mottaret there is also easy access down to Meribel for the extensive nursery slopes there.

There is a huge amount of off-piste possibilities in the Three Valleys. There is extensive off piste from Mont Vallon and Mont de La Chambre. Also there is the fantastic Aiguille de Fruit off piste route.

Mottaret is situated at the entrance to the Tueda nature reserve and the Vanoise National Park. It is a great place from which to base an active outdoor holiday in a truly magnificent setting.

Lac Tueda and the Tueda Nature Reserve, part of the larger "Vanoise" national park form a protected area preserved from development where the natural alpine wildlife of Marmots, Chamois and the Alpine Ibex are free to roam.
